Candy Roaster Rendezvous!
October 25
5:00-8:00pm
This celebration event for the 2018 heritage food project will be a collaboration between Slow Food Asheville and Twin Leaf Brewery to create a fall North Georgia Candy Roaster Squash beer. Yes folks, we said BEER. It is Asheville after all. We call on all individuals who received a packet of candy roaster squash seeds and grew out the plant to donate just one squash to the brewery in order to make this beer.
All you have to do is go to Twin Leaf at the end of September and drop off a squash. You will receive a coupon for a free candy roaster squash beer on October 25, the day of the celebration. We need 500 pounds of squash to make this beer so please consider donating one.
Alongside the squash beer will be a potluck to celebrate the delicious flavors of this sweet candy roaster squash. This event will be all about drinking, eating, sharing stories and fellowship. Oh, and it’s FREE!
