First Annual Oakley Farmers Market Harvest Fesitval

October 4, 2012 by admin

Bring your families to the First Annual Oakley Farmers Market Harvest Festival!

Join us Thursday, Oct. 25 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the Oakley Farmers Market, 607 Fairview Road in Asheville (behind Oakley United Methodist Church.) We’ll be cooking up a healthy and delicious supper by donation, using many of our vendors’ fresh harvests. All donations will benefit the growth of the market so that we can continue to serve the amazing Oakley community next market season.

The event will also feature live music, a costume contest for children and pets with prizes, raffle prizes, face painting, games, displays of antique tractors and farming equipment, fresh-pressed apple cider and much more. For details or information on volunteer opportunities, call Oakley Farmers Market Manager Carly Esslinger at 828-407-0188 or visit www.oakleyfarmersmarket.com as we add more information.

We are still looking for volunteers for this event so please be in touch if you would like to be a part of this great event!

Who We Are

Slow Food Asheville is a local chapter, or “convivium,” of the international Slow Food movement. Local groups are called “convivia” because they bring together, in a convivial and enjoyable way, people who love food and traditions. Our convivium was founded in March, 2003.
