Slow Food on Campus at UNCA!!!!

August 20, 2010 by admin

Slow Food UNCA will launch it’s very own chapter on September 22nd as part of the Asheville Food and Environmental Film Festival (AFEFF). This chapter will work with various community organizations to implement hands on service learning projects for UNCA students, and further develop initiatives assisting in getting more local  food into the UNCA cafeteria. Please come and join the celebration! There will be a farm dinner at Eyes of Blue Farm with fabulous local food from area restaurants. Watch the opening films of the AFEFF. Sundance Power and Fresh Asheville present Asheville’s first and only Solar Cinema! Films shown will be “YERT Your.Environmental.Road.Trip.” and “Carbon Nation.” The cost of this event is $35.  If you buy your tickets before August 31st there is a 20% early bird discount. Who We Are

Slow Food Asheville is a local chapter, or “convivium,” of the international Slow Food movement. Local groups are called “convivia” because they bring together, in a convivial and enjoyable way, people who love food and traditions. Our convivium was founded in March, 2003.
